All-Star Tournament Team Selection
ELIGIBILITY
Players must meet the criteria established by Little League “Residency and School Attendance Player Eligibility Requirement,” Player Participation in Other Programs,” and meet the minimum games played requirement.
8-10, 9-11, 10-12, 11-13, 12-14- Must have participated in a minimum of 8 games
12-16 Senior- no minimum game requirement.
Tournament teams are divided by age without regard to regular season division. **Age eligible players can play tournament in a lower division that they played in the regular season. EX: A 12 year old who played Seniors during the regular season may be drafted to a Senior, Junior or Major tournament team. A 12 year old who played on a majors team during the regular season is only eligible for a Majors tournament team.
Coach-Pitch minors are NOT eligible to be selected to a tournament team even if they are age-eligible.
Coaches must have been regular season coaches or managers.
MANAGER SELECTION
Managers must submit a letter of interest to the league to be nominated as a tournament coach The President will nominate All Star Managers after discussion with the board,
The Board of Directors will approve nominations.
Selected managers must attend an All Star Managers meeting with the board.
PLAYER SELECTION
Candidates should be selected upon their playing ability and eligibility. The roster should include sufficient pitching strength to meet tournament schedules.
Team managers will submit a list of the top 3 players on their team for nomination to the tournament team.
Team managers will submit a list of the top 5 players in their division (not from their team) for nomination to the tournament team.
A mandatory tryout will be scheduled for each division.
Players must submit an “Application and Commitment” form to be eligible for selection.
Tournament Managers will submit their final player selections and assistant coach selections for approval by the Executive Board within 2 days of the tournament tryout session.
Each tournament team is required to roster a minimum of 12 players, with the option to roster additional players.
Names of tournament players must not be released before June 1st (May 15 if all players have been verified and approved by district staff).
Tournament teams must not practice until all players and coaching staff have been verified and approved by district staff.
TOURNAMENT TEAMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN FUNDRAISING FOR TOURNAMENT COSTS.
A TEAM TREASURER WILL BE REQUIRED TO TRACK ALL MONIES RAISED AND SPENT, AND TO DELIVER FINAL REPORT AND RECEIPTS TO THE LEAGUE TREASURER.
